Gameco was founded in Brisbane in 1972 by Mr F.W.N. Taylor, a Gas Engineer, to service all aspects of the Gas Industry. The name of the business, GAMECO, was derived from Gas And Mechanical Engineering COmpany. From its inception as a one man operation, the company has grown to be Australia's leading supplier of gas equipment with warehouses in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & New Zealand.
The Gameco Group employs around 50 specialist staff including Combustion Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Automotive Engineers (specialising in LP Gas & Natural Gas Vehicles), Qualified LP Gas Installers, Technical Sales Staff as well as support staff in accounting & warehousing.
The Gameco business was built on service to the customer and to the industry generally, with senior management being closely involved with the Australian LP Gas Association, the Australian Gas Association, the TAFE network (both Automotive & Traditional), Standards Australia, and the Institution of Gas Engineers (Australia).
From the group's offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand, it services all States and Territories of Australia, Papua New Guinea, Asia, New Zealand and Oceania with products well known and respected around the World. Products such as RegO, Rochester Gauges, Parker LP Gas Hose, Blackmer, OHG, SIT, Robertshaw, Primus, ROCK, Gasolec, & Red Dragon.
Each of the GAMECO Australian offices is licensed by Standards Australia as Gas Cylinder Test Stations, both mobile and static.
