The #ID155C Carbon Monoxide Detector uses an electro-chemical sensor which offers a high sensitivity to CO.
CO – The first symptoms of intoxication are felt at the 200 ppm level after 2 hours. Symptoms are;
Prolonged exposure to CO (carbon monoxide) at higher levels can be fatal.
The average Sensor life in the Geca ID155C in ‘clean air’ is five (5) years & after this period, it is possible to replace the Sensor & recalibrate the instrument in a Laboratory. A ‘production’ date stamp is on the instrument for this reason. The ‘useful’ life of the Sensor is not dependent on the running time of the instrument as the ageing process occurs even when the instrument is switched off.
IT IS ADVISABLE TO CHECK & TEST THE INSTRUMENT ANNUALLY
Should the Instrument not be used for extended periods, it is advisable to remove the battery for storage.
